An Into The WildLIFE Journey

Contributing to conservation has been central to our core mission since Bushtracks was established 35 years ago, “With passion, knowledge and care, our team creates authentic conservation-minded travel experiences in Africa.” With this in mind, we developed the Into the WildLIFE expedition series, propelling Bushtracks’ mission forward, with more effort to make a difference than ever before, and we are just getting started.

Congo Basin Discovery 2023 pioneered the series with a journey to the “heart of Africa” where our travelers had meaningful conversations with a gorilla research team, learned about the sustainable way of life of the nomadic Ba'Aka people, and giggled at the sight of elephants spraying themselves golden in the muddy bais.

Bushtracks is excited to announce the launch of the next expedition of this series: Hands-On South Africa - an impact journey taking place March 29 - April 12, 2025. Get ready for 15 exciting days, with 15 fellow explorers, four remarkably diverse destinations, all in one country.

Simply by reserving your seat, your safari dollar has a positive impact on some of South Africa’s heroic conservation efforts. The cost of the safari includes all conservation levies and community fees that support impressive projects and organizations such as the Kwandwe Rhino Conservation Trust, Timbavati Leopard Project, foundation scholarships, elephant research, fire management and the reserves themselves.

Experience exceptional game viewing, participate in hands-on conservation activities and enjoy the luxury of time-saving private flights and seamless logistics:

Witness first-hand how endangered species populations are monitored and protected.
Join a field ranger on an anti-poaching patrol flight via helicopter.
Accompany a vet team on a rhino “intervention” and assist with medical checkups, taking measurements, and microchipping the horns.
Help restore Kwandwe's ecology by planting the native succulent spekboom.
Set out in search of the Big Five plus meerkats, cheetahs, African wild dogs, and rare elusive species such as desert black rhino, porcupines, and brown hyenas.
